We went to Edmonton on April 6. I started a job at a nearby refinery on night shift. Six nights a week. Ten hours a night plus about forty-five minutes commuting time each way. Wednesday nights off. That kind of crowds out any other activities worth writing about. It also seems to crowd out the motivation to write about anything else.
This job could last into June for me. Don’t expect much posting.
Juanita went back to Meadow Lake for Kohen’s piano recital. There’s another trip back for her in may for a Dental appointment. I had one scheduled, too and have bumped it to June.
The job started with driving to work in daylight and driving in home in predawn. By the last day of work in the month the sun was coming up as I left work for home.

Topoint Sleep Mask with Bluetooth Speakers
|
I have always deferred from accepting job dispatches for night shift in Edmonton. I didn’t think I would get needed sleep at daughter Rebekah’s house with five young homeschooling children. On the recommendation of daughter Deborah I bought a Topoint sleep mask with built in Bluetooth speakers. The mask blocks light. The speakers with white noise and added ear plugs totally block any sounds. No need to go rent a room near the refinery. I can’t recommend these enough. So much more comfortable than ear buds and a sleep mask.
You can learn more and buy them here.

Life Happens On Wednesdays
|
One Wednesday we went for dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory downtown while Ezikiel went to a job interview. Yang Ming Buffet was our destination another Wednesday. We went the buffet in the T&T supermarket after looking at Murphy beds at Wallbeds Etc on the last Wednesday of the month.
One Wednesday morning we drove to the Glowing Embers Campground to meet Barney and Sharon Gibson, neighbours at WOTC in Harlingen last winter and fellow labourers in Guatemala. They are on their way to Alaska as campground hosts for the summer. We went out for a fine breakfast at Hash the Browns in Spruce Grove.
I’ve picked up metal for current and future projects at the southside Metal Supermarkets.
